--The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Business Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at the Best Western Genetti Hotel and Convention Center in Downtown Wilkes-Barre.

This year area businesses and professionals will be honored in the following categories: ATHENA Award, “I Believe” Award, and Pride of Place Awards. - (05/18/2009) --The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce presented its annual Community Progress Award, sponsored by PNC Bank, to the Municipality of Kingston and Forty Fort Borough, in recognition of their cooperative efforts for the Kingston – Forty Fort Fire and Emergency Services Functional Consolidation at the Chamber’s Annual Legislative Breakfast on Friday, April 17, 2009. Click here for more. --"With the help and support of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry recently made the final payment to the Irem Shrine for the acquisition of the Irem Temple. The Chamber is in the process of working with community groups and local, state, and federal partners to secure the necessary resources to rehabilitate and properly reuse this important historic and civic asset to our region," said Todd Vonderheid, President/CEO, Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry. --The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Legislative Breakfast on Friday, April 17 at 7:30 a.m. at the Best Western Genetti Hotel and Conference Center in Downtown Wilkes-Barre. This annual event provides an opportunity for area business representatives to discuss key issues with legislators.
