Frontier Communications’ Three-Year Investment in Pennsylvania Tops $75 Million - (04/22/2014)
--Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR) recently announced that the company’s three years of capital expenditures in Pennsylvania exceeded $75 million, including approximately $23 million in 2013.
      Beginning in 2014, in addition to Frontier’s own capital expenditures, many Frontier markets in Pennsylvania will benefit from additional support totaling $1.5 million from the Federal Communications Commission’s Connect America Fund (CAF). CAF funding will allow Frontier to increase broadband speeds in some of its very rural Pennsylvania markets. Frontier offers broadband, digital phone service, satellite television service, Frontier satellite broadband, FTR Energy Services, customer premises equipment (telephone systems, routers, switches, support for commercial businesses and e-911 applications), Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access, commercial cloud based voice solutions, data center services, and web security/data back-up/personal identity protection and more through Frontier Secure.

PennDOT Prepares for Blasting Work on SR 309 Between Wilkes-Barre and Mountain Top - (04/17/2014)
--Beginning on Tuesday, April 22, PennDOT will begin the process of moving traffic from SR 309 North to SR 309 South, between Wilkes Barre and Mountain Top. In order to perform blasting in the rock cut area of SR 309 North, all traffic will be moved into single lane patterns on what are now the southbound lanes. From Tuesday (4/22) to Friday (4/25), crews will be painting lines, paving and setting barrier. As they do, there may be delays and single lane patterns in the area.
      By the end of next week (4/25), traffic is scheduled to be moved over and will remain in single-lane patterns until late fall.

Public Invited to Share Input on Transportation Priorities for Long-Range Planning - (04/16/2014)
--The public is invited to share their feedback on transportation priorities and investments through a survey at as part of PennDOT’s efforts to update the state’s Long Range Transportation Plan and develop the state’s first-ever Comprehensive Freight Movement plan.
      The plans will provide a strategic vision for investing in transportation assets to meet current and future demands. The plan’s goals, objectives and recommendations will help guide the state’s future 12-Year Programs and regional long-range transportation plans.

Borton-Lawson Names New Controller Judith Bloom, CPA Promoted to Controller - (04/11/2014)
--WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania (April 11, 2014)– Borton-Lawson is pleased to announce Judith Bloom, CPA has been promoted to be the firm’s Controller. Bloom just recently celebrated her 3 year anniversary at Borton-Lawson in March. She was a Senior Accountant prior to her promotion to Controller.

Howard Gardner School Benefits from FNCB Donation Donation will fund innovative educational programs - (04/11/2014)
--First National Community Bank (FNCB), locally-based for over 100 years, today announced a $2,000 donation to the Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School, as part of the Bank’s $181,000 Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) commitment. The donation will be used to fund innovative educational programs at the school.
      The Howard Gardner School is a tuition-free public school serving the greater Scranton area.

      Scranton Tomorrow, Penn State’s Master Gardeners and the University of Scranton will be conducting a cleanup and flower planting in downtown Scranton on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
      Lackawanna County : The SWB Rail Riders will have home games on the following dates and times. There may be traffic delays at the beginning and end of each game near I-81 Exit 182(Davis Street/Montage Mountain Road):
