- (08/13/2008) --The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce held its CEO to CEO Networking breakfast presented by Rosenn, Jenkins & Greenwald LLP at the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre on August 13. The guest speaker was Donna Cooper presenting: the Budget Agreement, Investments in our Schools and Improving Readiness of High School Graduates. Click here for more. --The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Business Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at the Best Western Genetti Hotel and Convention Center in Downtown Wilkes-Barre. At this annual event, the Chamber honored people and organizations that make a difference in the Greater Wilkes-Barre community and make it a better place to live, work and learn. This year area businesses and professionals were honored in the following categories: ATHENA Award, “I Believe” Award, Great Valley Young Entrepreneur Award for Luzerne County and Pride of Place Awards.
Click here for more. --The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Community Progress Award to Exeter Borough, in recognition of their cooperative efforts in a multi-municipal recycling program that benefits over 30,700 residents and nine municipalities in Luzerne County.
The award, sponsored by PNC Bank, will be presented at the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Legislative Breakfast held May 29 at Genetti’s Hotel and Convention Center, Wilkes-Barre. Click here for more.

--The 12th Annual Community Reading Day, will be held Wednesday, April 23, bringing more than 600 volunteers to second-grade classrooms in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wyoming and Wayne counties.
